Folder Visualizer reports the disk space used by each folder or application.
The idea behind Folder Visualizer is to provide an application capable of scanning your hard disks to get a report of the storage space used by each folder or application.
The application is very easy to use. The user interface is based on a wizard. The first step is to decide whether you want to find memory wasters automatically or manually. If you use the automatic mode, the program will scan all the drives on your machine. In case you decide to carry out the operation manually, you can begin by selecting the drive you want to scan.
The scan results can be visualized in different ways. Several tabs will let you select the preferred view. First, there is an overview of the largest folders and files as well as information about disk usage. The second tab will show the percentage of used space by each folder. Next, the File Types tab will give you a report on the space used by each file type. Also in this folder, you may visualize lists of files grouped according to their type. Finally, the Top 100 Files tab will show the 100 files using more disk space. Some common operations are available from these lists, for example, open and delete.
The operation is slow, but you should understand that it cannot be other way, because the program will be accessing every file and folder’s properties on the disk.
